DOC Night Out presents Chanda Chevannes' "Living Downstream"

Introducing ‘DOC Night Out’ – a casual monthly screening series and meet up that’s free for DOC Toronto members ($10 for Non-Members). An amalgamation of our past programs’ “DOC Salon”,  “Rough Cuts” and our informal monthly pub gatherings, this screening series offers DOC Toronto members the opportunity to screen and discuss their work with their peers. Whether it’s something that needs to be workshopped before locking picture, a pressing social-issue doc, or a great film that’s just begging to be pulled off the shelf, DOC Night Out provides a casual and open social space to talk about our docs!

For the first ever DOC Night Out, we'll be screening "Living Downstream" a recent film by DOC Toronto member Chanda Chevannes. "Living Downstream" is based on an inspiring and lyrical book about cancer and the environment, written by biologist and author, Sandra Steingraber. Like the book, the film leads its audiences through the Sandra’s careful research on the links between human cancer and synthetic chemicals. Chanda Chevannes will be in attendance at the screening and will participate in a discussion afterwards moderated by fellow filmmaker Liz Marshall.

Free appetizers will be available (first come, first serve!), and a cash bar and great menu will be at  your service. Doors at 6:30PM, screening begins at 7:30PM sharp followed by a Q&A.

If you're planning to join us, RSVP to allie@doctoronto.ca with the subject line: "DOC Night Out"
