OMDC-DOC Toronto Mentorship Program @ Hot Docs

Since 2006, DOC Toronto has come together with the OMDC, Hot Docs, and the Hot Docs Forum (formerly the TDF) to offer an incredible opportunity for emerging documentary filmmakers to make the most of the Hot Docs experience.



What is the OMDC DOC Toronto Mentorship Program?

A small group of documentary filmmakers from Ontario will be selected to attend Hot Docs with an Industry Pass and will also gain access to the HDF as an observer (Value - Approx. $1000). In addition, they will be mentored by senior, experienced industry professionals so that they can optimize the experience and networking opportunities.

Who is eligible?


-Documentary Filmmakers who live and work in Ontario
-Documentary Filmmakers who have at least one broadcast credit, but not more than five
- Documentary Filmmakers must have a slate of projects in development
- Must be a current DOC member (new members and renewals will be accepted upon acceptance to the program: Click here for membership details)

Note: DOC Toronto has a stated mandate of supporting inclusion and diversity in the documentary industry. Please let us know if you are you a producer from an underrepresented community – visible minority, disability or Aboriginal.

Limitations: Candidates must be able to attend the majority of the festival and the entire Hot Docs Forum. They must also be available for several evening meetings to be scheduled in March/April, leading up to the festival, as well as a follow-up meeting post-festival. Selected participants will be required to submit one-sheets of their projects in development to be vetted by industry mentors.
